When you pay via Searchumrah, your money is collected and held by Razorpay — an RBI-authorised payment aggregator — not by the agent and not by Searchumrah. We never take custody of your money.
Released only after you travel
The agent receives their share after your departure, not the moment you pay. Your money is not sitting with an agent for weeks before your trip — which removes the single biggest risk of paying in full upfront.
Eligible refunds come straight back to you
If a booking is cancelled while the funds are still held, an eligible refund — set by the agent’s published cancellation policy — is returned to your original payment method (card, UPI or netbanking).

Is my money safe when I book an Umrah package on Searchumrah?+
Yes. When you choose "Pay via Searchumrah", your payment is held by Razorpay, an RBI-authorised payment aggregator, and released to the travel agent only after your departure — not when you pay. Searchumrah never takes custody of your money and charges you no commission or fee.
Does Searchumrah hold my payment itself?+
No. Searchumrah is not a payment custodian. Your money is held by Razorpay, a licensed RBI-authorised aggregator, in line with Indian payment-aggregator rules. The agent’s share is transferred to them only after you travel.
When does the travel agent actually get paid?+
For payments made via Searchumrah, the agent’s share is held until your departure day and released to them afterwards — so an agent cannot take your full payment weeks in advance and disappear before the trip.
Can I get a refund if I cancel?+
If you paid via Searchumrah and cancel while the funds are still held, an eligible refund is returned to your original payment method. The refundable amount is set by the agent’s published cancellation policy for that package, less the payment processor’s ~2% fee, which Razorpay does not return on a refund. Everything is shown to you before you pay.
Do I have to pay through Searchumrah?+
No. Paying via Searchumrah (with money held until you travel) is optional. You can always pay the agent directly using their contact details. If you pay directly, that transaction is between you and the agent, on the agent’s own terms.
Does Searchumrah add a commission or markup to the package price?+
No. Searchumrah charges pilgrims nothing — no commission, no booking fee, no markup. Agents keep 100% of the package price. Searchumrah earns only from the subscription agents pay to list on the platform.
How does Searchumrah verify its travel agents?+
Searchumrah does not open listings to anyone who signs up. We onboard only agents with a genuine multi-year track record and verify their identity, business and contact details before publishing their listings. This significantly lowers — though does not fully eliminate — the risk of encountering a fraudulent operator.
