Ask ChatGPT, Claude or Grok for “a 15-day Umrah from Hyderabad in March under ₹1.2 lakh” and, until now, you got one of two things: a polite paragraph of general advice, or a list stitched together from old web pages with prices nobody could confirm. Pilgrims deserve better than a guess. So we built a direct line from AI assistants to Searchumrah’s live catalogue.
The short answer
The Searchumrah AI connector is a free, public Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Any AI assistant that supports MCP can connect to it and search live Umrah packages from verified travel agencies — by departure city, month, budget, trip length, hotel distance to the Haram and star rating — then open full package and agency details. No API key and no sign-up are needed to search.
The connector address is https://searchumrah.com/api/mcp. Setup guides for every major assistant, the full tool reference and a live playground are on the Searchumrah developer portal.
What is MCP, in one paragraph
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant call an outside service as a “tool” while it answers you. Instead of guessing from what it read on the internet months ago, the assistant asks the service directly and gets today’s answer. ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, VS Code and the major AI developer APIs all speak it. Searchumrah now does too.
What an assistant can do with it today
- Search Umrah packages (
search_packages) — Search live Umrah packages from verified travel agencies on Searchumrah. - Get package details (
get_package) — Full details of one Umrah package: price, dates, hotels and their distance to the Haram, inclusions, seats left, the agency, and whether it can be booked right now. - Get agency profile (
get_agency) — Profile of one verified Umrah travel agency: verification tier, location, pilgrim rating and review count, how long it has been on Searchumrah, and its currently listed packages.. - List departure cities (
list_departure_cities) — Departure cities that currently have live Umrah packages, with how many, most inventory first.
Every result carries the package’s own link on searchumrah.com. The assistant finds and compares; you open the page, read the full itinerary and book there.
How to use it — for pilgrims
- Open your assistant’s connector settings (in Claude: Settings → Connectors; in ChatGPT: developer mode under Apps & Connectors). The step-by-step guides cover each one.
- Add a custom connector named Searchumrah with the URL
https://searchumrah.com/api/mcp. No password, no API key. - Ask in your own words: the city you fly from, the month, your budget, how many days, how close to the Haram you want to stay.
- Open the links it gives you and book on Searchumrah, with buyer protection.
The rules we built it on
- Same truth as the website. The connector runs the exact query searchumrah.com runs: same fair ranking, same prices, same verification gate. An assistant can never see a package the website hides.
- Verified agencies only. An agency appears only after Searchumrah has verified it. Unverified, deactivated or draft listings do not exist as far as the connector is concerned.
- Read-only by design. Today every tool only reads public catalogue data. Nothing an assistant does through the connector can book, pay, message an agency or change anything.
- The pilgrim books on Searchumrah. Every result links to its page on searchumrah.com. Booking, payment and any contact with the agency happen there, with buyer protection, never inside a chat.
- No contact scraping. Agency phone numbers, emails and WhatsApp links are never returned. Leads reach agencies through Searchumrah and are never resold.
- Free and open. No key, no sign-up and no per-call fee to search. Fair-use limits apply per network so the service stays fast for everyone.
Why it matters for travel agencies
- Pilgrims are asking AI first. More pilgrims now start with “find me an Umrah package from Hyderabad in March” typed into an AI assistant instead of a search box. The connector puts your live packages into that answer.
- Zero extra work. There is nothing to set up. Every published package on your verified Searchumrah profile is already searchable by AI assistants, with your price, hotels and rating exactly as you listed them.
- Fair, not pay-to-win. Assistants get the same fair ranking as the website: soonest departures first, one package per agency per round, then rating, rewards and live offers. A good listing wins, not a big budget.
- The booking stays yours. The assistant sends the pilgrim to your package page on Searchumrah. The enquiry or booking arrives in your dashboard exactly like any other.
If you run an Umrah agency and are not on Searchumrah yet, list your agency. Once we have verified you, your packages are in the answer too.
What is next
Today the connector only reads. Next, pilgrims will be able to sign in — on Searchumrah’s own page, with the same email code they already use, never by typing a code into a chat — so an assistant can do more on their behalf:

One thing will not change: confirming a booking and paying always happens on Searchumrah, where the price is computed by us and your payment can be held by RBI-authorised Razorpay until you travel. An assistant can prepare a booking; only you can make it.
